It was tradition of the fathers that caused, the people to reject Christ, tradition is not always right and in this case it is not. The reason we are to become like little children is because they are sinless before him and Baptism must follow after repentance, Faith repentance and baptism in that order. Christ was how old when he was baptize? Do you not think he is the example? Sometimes we just go along for the ride, if aunt Mary did it then it is good enough for me.

LOL! I’m just saying that a person is not sending the child to hell by baptizing them. 👍 Therefore it is harmless. Whether you think it’s necesary or not for a baby to be baptized, it sure can’t HURT. 👍

papermoon I think that this is the thinking that caused many different churches to arise, which is why not, what would it hurt, and pretty soon you build a religion with someones thinking differently, don’t you see how easy it is to wonder into forbidden paths, Is this not how Satan tempts Gods children, try it, it won’t hurt, everyone is doing it. It is how sin begins. But lets just say, for conversation purposes, If what I say is true, that it is the doctrine of Christ, would you still think the same, or would it be, who cares it can’t hurt, I know you are a person of some reasoning power, think it out in your own mind then ask God. You see this thinking is the same the the Gays think today, God love us, your judging us, and the list goes on until we embrace it. It is not who is right but what is right. All reasoning power tells me that Bapising infants is wrong. But the truth of it makes reasoning power. You think about it O.K.

I would explain to him Justice and mercy, that mercy is for those who repent and that he couldn’t pay for his sins, that there had to be a infinite atonement, I would build in his heart a love for Christ so that his desire to be baptize, to forsake his sins, and desire for mercy of the atonement maybe set upon him, maybe realized, through baptism that belong to the fold of God, may give eternal life. That baptizm is for the sinners, for the whole need not a physician. It is a good thing I wasn’t doing the baptism because it wouldn’t of happened.
