Doubting Thomas

The Gospel readings for this past Sunday was John 20:19-31. Our Lord appeared to all the disciples and breathed the Holy Spirit on to them, giving them the ability to forgive sins. In verse 24, it states that Thomas "was not with them when Jesus came". Was the breathing of the Holy Spirit and forgiveness of sins given to Thomas at a later date. If so, when?

I think it was more of a blessing. They received the Holy Spirit in the Pentecost Acts 2:1-4:

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Even though St. Thomas was not with the apostles when they received the power to forgive sins, he might have received that power at a later time. Some scholars said that the apostles passed the power down to him through the imposition of hands.

Jesus appeared to Thomas and told him to put his finger in His side.. Then He said Blessed are those who do not see but believe"
