I had two operations on the palm-side base of my right thumb last summer. Because of a growth that bled very often. The first time the growth became about 1" in diameter.

In the second operation, the surgeon dug a little deeper to remove the growth which had started to grow back. And when I awoke from the anesthesia (and the rest of the day) I had absolutely no feeling in my thumb. It seemed like maybe there was serious nerve damage – maybe the doctor cut an important nerve. When I got home, I put John Paul’s Rosary CD on my bedroom stereo to repeat and replay all night. Repeatedly playing the Rosary CD (which I had previously had blessed) had resulted in at least one healing before. The CD had prayers in Latin and Glorious Mysteries announced in English. And also had other prayers (2nd CD of a 2 CD set).

The next morning when I awoke, I could feel my thumb. That morning (and it is the same now) there seemed to only be a little bit of permanent nerve damage, but I can generally use my thumb and feel things. The main problem is turning pages.

I credit the healing to Pope John Paul II’s (and his companions’) prayers.

The first healing that I had from playing the CD all night long was before Pope John Paul II died. I supposed then that it is likely that somebody else on the CD may have died since when it was recorded and that they are a Saint in heaven.

My experiences with the Pope John Paul II Rosary CD have helped me to understand the importance of the Rosary. And my love for the Rosary and for Pope John Paul II became greater.
