Not necessarily so. I think that part of Dr. Oz’s appeal, like Dr. Andrew Weil, is that they both are not strictly confined to Western allopathic medicine. They are more open to practices from the East, like Ayurvedic medicine from India. This likely makes them more open to the possibility other ideas from the East, like reincarnation.

Besides, it is a controversial subject, and it makes for TV that gets people talking, like we are doing here. They want good ratings, like all shows.

I’m pretty sure my personal doctor has little interest in past lives or reincarnation. He has enough to do just helping me keep this one life I’ve got!

The transference or migrAtion of the human soul is an assumption. There is no empirical evidence for it.

Conversely, the uniqueness of each soul-body assembly (ie, “human being”) fits well into what we know about human life. Aspects of the human soma just do not transfer interpersonally, absent conscious intervention (ie, via surgery).

Maybe someone more versed in Aquinianism than I, could more fully explain how the human soul relates to the body in Christian theology?

I doubt that the “medical community” has a consensus on anything not related to the functioning of our standard-issue, natural human body. That’s mind-boggling enough!

Reincarnation is not something science can investigate, since whatever would be “transmigrated” between bodies, would not be physical.
