Early church Fathers once stated if one could transmigrated from animal or person why can’t anyone remember there own past lives and expect to correct their mistakes. By the way Holy Scriptures state Forunto men are all appointed to die then comes judgement .
Very clearly we all are to die onlty once and then judged according to our deeds done on Earth. Personally I wouldn’t care much for having to die over and over again to try to correct something that I can’t remember .😃
There are lots of accounts in the NT of people dying twice, Lazarus for one. Jesus wept for him. I always thought it was because Lazarus would have to experience death a second time. All these NDE are just that, people who have died yet live to die again. I would not want a foretaste of death.

When I visit my mom, we watch Dr. Oz for the health advice, but when he brings on guests who died and came back or were visited by their dead relatives, we change the channel. On his show, Dr. Oz is like his mentor Oprah when it comes to spirituality: open to anything (so long as it isn’t dogmatic), sampling a little of this and a little of that.

I was only stating about the topic of reincarnation Jesus was trying to reach people about who He really was when he raised Lazarus and the other Lazarus was a different individual used to describe what happens on judgement and death. One thing to remember about Oprah she endorses New Age and Scientolgy so for me I wouldn’t hold any creedance to what Dr. Oz introduces . Official Church teachings state as well as the Holy Scriptures as I mentioned before "For unto all men are to die once then comes judgement . Not a series of reincarnation I don’t think personally that any type of creature such as an ant ,horse, or cow could possibly make any mistakes since they don’t have freewill or can we possibly remember anything if have ever lived 2,000 years ago . I believe that God gives us Humans His creatures common sense to figure that one out . Besides look at most ancient set of beliefs such as the Egyptians they majority believed you died then faced some type of judgment. The only good that can come from Oprah is a chance to talk about Jesus and His church to brings souls to Christ . Food for thought

pretty simple if St. Paul states in Hebrews for unto all men die once and then comes judgement . not only that Jesus once and for all so that we can have our sins forgiven and countless other examples in the Holy Scriptures that God creates us and has here on Earth die once and then judged by our deeds then wait at the final coming to be separated by sheep or goats into our reward. Pretty simple no reincarnation there 😉

I mean from a scientific pov.

I mean from a scientific pov.
Well, since the life is held by a specific body, and the mind is recorded to a specific head and neither can be transferred, it stands to reason that it cannot be reborn.

In fact, from a science POV, death should be the end of a human being, and would be if there were no spiritual body (pneumatikon soma).

According to Church teachings and of the Holy Scriptures we do not consult mediums since they do not come from God on their so-called gifts and Jesus was God incarnate so I highly doubt he would have mentioned anything on reincarnation if He ever was in India …He would have preached the Truth the Christian Truth …which would not hold reincarnation and by the way the non canonical gospels was proably written by gnostics which were not Christians THE aPOSTLE Thomas WAS IN India THOUGH 😉

Can you explain the spiritual body, pneumatikon soma once more?

Can you elaborate on that?

Pneumatikon = spiritual; **soma = **body.

Pneumatikon soma, in 1 Co 15, is contrasted to psychikon soma (“soul body” or natural body), the human body we are now breathing in.

While the “human body” is formed by, and holds natural life; the pneumatikon soma is a body formed by and will hold spiritual life.

And because the spiritual life will be everlasting, so will be the body!

Egeiretai pneumatikon soma.

Life cannot be transferred; it is held inseparably by the body.

The life you receive at conception is from your parents, and resides within your skin until you are dead. It does not transfer from anybody else.

Your mind also does not transfer. It begins at birth, and subsequently resides in your head while you breathe.

So there is no way that the mind and life (= soul) can be transferred from
someone dead to someone new. Each mind is new; each life comes from each person’s parents.

They say there aren’t enough souls to occupy all the bodies alive and being born. Then again, reincarnationists also believe we receive souls from animals and plants.

That souls “recycle” in that way is an assumption.

The soul being the life, is not swapped from
Body to body; it is intrinsic to each body.

How do you know? Care to elaborate again?

Dr. Oz has another show about past lives. He started by insinuating doctors and maybe scientists believe in it, but I turned it off before I heard any more. Are doctors and scientists starting to believe in reincarnation?
Is this belief becoming accepted by those in the medical profession?

Not necessarily so. I think that part of Dr. Oz’s appeal, like Dr. Andrew Weil, is that they both are not strictly confined to Western allopathic medicine. They are more open to practices from the East, like Ayurvedic medicine from India. This likely makes them more open to the possibility other ideas from the East, like reincarnation.

Besides, it is a controversial subject, and it makes for TV that gets people talking, like we are doing here. They want good ratings, like all shows.

I’m pretty sure my personal doctor has little interest in past lives or reincarnation. He has enough to do just helping me keep this one life I’ve got!

The transference or migrAtion of the human soul is an assumption. There is no empirical evidence for it.

Conversely, the uniqueness of each soul-body assembly (ie, “human being”) fits well into what we know about human life. Aspects of the human soma just do not transfer interpersonally, absent conscious intervention (ie, via surgery).

Maybe someone more versed in Aquinianism than I, could more fully explain how the human soul relates to the body in Christian theology?

That was way over my head.
