Learned on ETWN News that Dr. Warren Carroll, Catholic convert, historian supreme, and founder of Christendom College, passed away this past Sunday. I love his books!! In fact I’ve been reading Vol. 4 of his History of Christendom for the last couple of months as recreational reading.

Does anyone know if Dr. Carroll finished Volume 6?? I have the first five volumes and would love to read the sixth if he did indeed finish it.

This is sad news indeed. I love his history volumes myself and was waiting for the sixth to come out. I guess it won’t come out unless he left extensive notes or something like that.

I know he was having heart problems writing the 5th volume.

May his soul rest in peace indeed.

According to one of the bios I read about his death, Volume VI was in the editing stage. He was working on it with his wife. So, there is still some chance it will be released to complete the series.
 
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

He was quite a figure, and will be sorely missed.

Wow I do hope that it comes out. Is it going to cover our time in the 21st century?

Wow-I didn’t know about this.

I have two of his earlier books, which I got through Christendom Publications (I think that was the name of it):

‘1917: Red Banners, White Mantle’. This was about Lenin and the Russian Revolution, the efforts of Blessed Emperor Charles I of Austria-Hungary to bring an end to the First World War, and the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima, Portugal.

‘The Guillotine and The Cross’. This was a Catholic view of the French Revolution, specifically the Reign of Terror under Danton, Robespierre, and their cronies.

May Dr. Carroll rest in peace, and may he receive the words, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’
