Dramatic footage of a trendy bishop being booed by Mass-goers

In Normandy, a modernist Catholic bishop’s attempts to remove an orthodox parish priest have provoked an extraordinary outburst of fury from parishioners.

Mgr Christian Nourrichard, Bishop of the Leftist diocese of Evreux, has booted out Fr Francis Michel from the church of Saint-Taurin, Thiberville, where he has had an outstandingly successful ministry for 23 years. The bishop favours instead one of those team ministries where, as in England and America, the role of the priest is largely replaced by that of self-obsessed lay “ministers”.

On the feast of the Epiphany, January 3, the bishop arrived to celebrate Mass in Thiberville dressed in one of those disgusting rainbow chasubles favoured by Magic Circle clerics everywhere. As he haughtily explained his plans, some of Fr Michel’s supporters completely lost their rag…

WOW
At first I think that such reverent people should not have been acting this way at Mass, but then I think of Our Lord turning over tables at the Temple and I think they were justified. Watch the video, what stuck with me was the mother going up to the altar, grabbing her son the altar server, and walking out the door.

I thought you guys would have a lot to say about this 🙂

Wow is right. Is this the Catholic equivalent of the Tea Baggers Party?

I wonder what the rainbow vestment was all about?

To remind us of God’s covenant? or something else?

😃 I don’t think so… the bishop is trying to relocate the only priest who says the EF Mass to a large parish where he wouldn’t be able to do so any more. Basically the bishop is suppressing the TLM 😦

Hopefully Rome soon backs this parish priest before things get messier. France’s Catholics are in such a rough spot right now, this is only one event out of thousands!

Does anyone speak French and can give us a rough translation? I would like to know what the mayor and bishop had to say.

It’s not. It’s for a gay agenda.

I saw this video quite a while ago. These people are angry at this man because he wants to push an agenda. It’s not like the agenda in the US. This is extreme western European anything goes agenda.

Notice how the one woman takes her altar boy son out of there, saying he won’t be an altar server for him!

Whether the rights and wrongs of the bishop in question, is this a respectful way of treating a successor of the apostles?

I saw this a couple of weeks ago on Real atholic TV. This is just another problem in our Church. I am glad those people rebelled against him.

From what I’ve read, the Bishop has a gay agenda, so I really doubt the rainbow has anything to do with the old testament. Pretty funny when they all started to boo

Did you all read the ariticle? The priest in question is now saying Mass elsewhere sans episcopal permission. …That can’t be good.

I’m worried about that part too. I guess we should be waiting for an answer soon from the Vatican, or at least hopefully. We don’t want any more schismatics.

I cannot believe how the bishop would make this announcement at the beginning of Mass! Can you imagine going happily through Mass when you were just told that your good priest of decades was being removed?

Maybe, maybe not. Although this is an extreme example, if there was found a bishop who had been a part of the whole scandal a few years back, he would be very disrespectfully removed. This bishop is going against the Pope’s mandate to make the Latin Mass more available, by getting rid of the only one in his diocese.

Perhaps they should have organized and responded to all the prayers in Latin rather than French at the bishop’s Mass, or some less obtrusive form of protest. But these are the French 😉

Latin responses would be funny, I grant you.

I still think Mass is an utterly inappropriate time, and the house of God an utterly inappropriate place, for protest shenanigans.

I don’t imagine this was the first these people had heard of the plans, they tend to be announced well in advance.

Check it out :extrahappy:

The Bishop of Evreux has backed off!
I am informed by the Forum Catholique article that Bishop Nourrichard has backed off, after having seen the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Luigi Ventura, recently appointed to France by the Pope. This Nuncio was previously in Canada, and this much-loved prelate was known to our Canadian TAC Bishops, as Bishop Peter Wilkinson has told me.

The new priestly team appointed by Bishop Nourrichard will not minister in Thiberville and the 12 other churches of the parish group, and Fr. Michel is to be allowed to continue his ministry.

Bishop Nourrichard spent the day last Thursday in Paris with the Nuncio. The scandal of Thiberville had taken on international dimensions.

Many priests in France in France and elsewhere have refused to be moved from their parishes. What is now happening is that Benedict XVI wants parishes and the stability of their priests to be respected by diocesan bishops.

The tide has turned. Deo gratias! And may this be an encouragement for us all.

I will give it to the Bishop for being Christ-like and not retaliating in any way even when the parishoners were touching his person.

As long as it’s not encouragement to boo our bishops or be otherwise disruptive in Church, especially not during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Ture. (Btw those weren’t my words :))

Can anyone tell me what the gay agenda is? I know quite a few homosexual persons, and they cannot enlighten me.

Can you, archangel?
