Ok so here is a little background: I am 18 years old, and my mother passed away about 3 months ago. It has been difficult to adjust, but my family seems to be managing.

Anyway, I had a really weird dream last night. Ever since my mom passed, I have been having very vivid dreams. I also had some dreams about my mom, but they were never clear and were hard to remember. Until last night.

My dream goes as follows: I was sitting on our couch, looking at our laptop with my mom. She was looking at this football helmet that had lots of autographs. I couldn’t make out what team this helmet was for or who the players were, but since I am a football fan I figured it was just from me watching football.

Then I took the computer from my mom and closed out the picture. She started crying and pouting. I told her “Mom calm down, I just want to show you something” So I started pulling up what looked to be designs for her gravestone. She stopped crying and it seemed to me that she really liked them.

Then, for some reason I felt like I was really in this dream. Everything became more real. So I thought to myself, “Well since she is here, I am going to ask her about eternal life.” So I said, “Mom what is Heaven like?” She got super serious and said something about after 40 days, and 50 something years (She was 50) it was the greatest thing that she had ever seen.

Now my problem is that I have no idea what to make of this. Of course I believe that my mom was able to obtain eternal life and we pray for her soul everyday, but I don’t really think this dream was anything too big. I would like to think that it was true, but I have no proof. So what do you think?

Just BELIEVE, don’t analyze, quantize, justifize! It was a wonderful, happydream, be happy you had it!

Oh I believe for sure. I think sometimes God works in ways to draw us closer to Him, even if we don’t like it. I am sad that she is gone, but I am happy for the dream, and happy that I have an even greater motivation to get to heaven as well .

Thanks for the response 🙂

I’m so sorry for your loss. Either way, it sounds like this dream was comforting to you. Maybe you should journal your dreams. I definitely think you should pray about it. May God Bless you. I’m praying for your family.

A biblical reference for helmet is from the book of Ephesians. Namely the helm of salvation.

The five stones or the five parts of the Armor of Elijah reference the same thing.

The helm is prayer.

The autographs are the different people who praid for your mother for her salvation. Notice the next thing on the computer is another focus on your mother. So it is about her heavenly life and what remains of her earthly life.

As the dream takes place in your family room it has to do with the present.

It also serves as a reminder to you of what is truly important and what grants salvation.
