I have been getting increasingly creeped out lately because my dreams seem to be coming true left and right! I don’t understand how this could be related to the Faith. Why would God allow this? There are things like meeting people in my dreams that I have never met before and then ACTUALLY meeting them in real life. And then there are things that just leave me with this feeling of impending doom that I can’t shake. Would someone mind telling me what is going on!?!?! Because, I don’t think this is in the Baltimore catechism.
P.S. I already made a threat about another aspect of my dreams but I thought it would be more helpful if I just made a new thread instead of confusing the two. 😊

It’s not related to faith, and God is not allowing or disallowing anything. I’ll bet a small sherry that these people you’re seeing in your dreams are not particularly clear in the dreams themselves, but when you later meet someone new, you’re projecting their image back onto the figure in your dream. As for the feelings of doom, we’ve all had 'em, and we usually ignore them because we’re always still here the next day. Just think - 1) how many times have you had these feelings of doom and 2) why aren’t you dead?

I suspect something is stressing you out, and whatever it is, it’s a very real, temporal problem. Deal with it and the dreams will deal with themselves.

This sort of thing happens to me every once and a while, and did to a large extent when I was a child. It is called ESP. Though it may not be faith related I think it is a reasonable experience, especially if one understands a little about time, space and different theories about these.

I used to dream about tests, plane crashes, meeting people, going to places and knowing everything about the building or surrounding though I was never there before. All I ever did was pray about them, and if the dream seemed to indicate a tragedy, accident or illness I would pray for God to intervene and keep people safe. Prayer helps many things and it could be that you are being nudged to pray about whatever you are dreaming of.

The last time I had an experience similar like this (random thoughts that would not go away versus a dream) it was about my dad and brother drowning while fishing. I was really scared for their safety and I realized I was to pray for their safety and well fare. They came home two days latter, and told how they nearly drown in the lake due to a sudden storm. It took them 30 minutes to get out of the water.

Maybe the only purpose of such dreams is to bring to our mind that we should pray for God’s help, intervention and grace based on the contents of the dream.

Your subconscious is made up completely of things you have already seen or experienced. People in your dreams are actually real people you have seen. Therefore if you meet someone who you think was in your dreams chances are you have seen them before or they are similar looking to someone you have seen.

How specific are the coincidence because it could just be a deja vu kinda thing?

Sometimes people have these kinds of dream, especially with people that are close to them. I have had a few dreams like this at a time when I was doing a lot of meditation. I have to disagree with the poster who said these are projections of people who aren’t clear images to begin with. I dreamed about very specific situations and very specific people, not generic and I used to write them down in a journal so there’s no question who they were.
Who knows why we have these dreams. I’m sure there can be many reasons.

I personally find dreaming very fascinating and love when I have a vivid dream I remember (happens mainly when I take a nap). Its hard to know what they mean, if they mean anything at all, because the science behind me isn’t very well developed (at least from my knowledge). I wouldn’t let them bother you too much.

This has happened to me on several occasions, but most of the time, they were of events with no significance. I remember one dream that was horrible that happened. I let someone rent a room from me, that turned out to be a disaster, and forgot about it. Then of course, it happened. Strange.

St. John Bosco is a saint related to dreams. I had a weird dream experience eventually come true.

The experience with meeting the person in my dream before it became reality went like this:
In my dream, I was in a group of people and we were all talking, but this one guy who was tall started to talk to me… Then I woke up. I knew intuitively what his name was.

Flash forward a little bit and I meet him in person and the name and height and everything is correct. We became friends as well.

I have also had other small thing happen like seeing a sweater pancho that I have never seen in my life because this person just bought it at the thrift store in my dream and then seeing the person wear it a day after my dream.

If you think these are accurate and before the event, test this spirit - write down your dreams in detail, include names and places, significant items.
Then when you do see, hear, notice this later; you will know.

My hunch is that you will notice how dissimilar they are, once you start writing these details down.
