Is it a sin to drive an illegal vehicle for a Dr.s visit? The visit is to check the status of cancer in remission and any delay could be life threatening. Tim

Why is the vehicle illegal? Do you mean that it has expired plates?

Yeah, My other car broke down and my “farm use” truck doesn’t have insurance, tags or inspection. I might be able to get it insured before the appointment. Tim

Do you have a neighbour who could give you a ride?

Morally indifferent. Smart? Be prepared to get ticketed and pay penalties or be sued because of an uninsured accident. No friends, neighbors, fellow church goers? Call your parish or church for help. Most communities have people who volunteer to transport the chronically ill who need treatment.

No, the only other option is an extra 140 miles that day in commutting my wife to work and back, then again on pickup in another car leaving the kids at the mercy of a teenager. Go the extra distance you think? Tim

If you didn’t have that illegal vehicle, you would find a way to get there anyway.

We can never do ‘bad’ so that good may come of it.
