I am a veteran; as I walked into church on Sunday a small American flag was handed me with a request that I sit in a front pew. I complied.

My wife and I sat in the front pew. It was a distractiion for me since I reacted to several of the parishoners in a childish way.
I laughed inappropriately several times and served to distract my wife. The liturgy, in part, was lost to me and I continued this behavior up to communion time. I received communion in my hands and as I walked away from the ECM the host left my hand and dropped to the floor.
I was lost for a minute as to what was the proper action but bent over, picked up the host and placed it in my mouth before proceeding to take the Precious Blood of Christ. My state of mind was fragmented for the rest of the Mass.
For the entire day I ruminated on the event with imaginings of my own spiritual demise to demon possession. But God rescued me from my own neglect, lack of knowledge and cognitive deficit.
This morning I woke up early and clicked on Catholic Answers and on to the forum in order to salve my conscious. Well you can check for yourself and see that the Apologetics question, first in line, was pretaining to the issue of dropped hosts. Check also the answer and see how God is merciful, kind, just and to nobodys surprise loves me very much.
Corpus Christi Sunday will be better attended by me next year and I will pray God to give me the grace of conversion so that I will learn to be attentive at Mass and receive the Eucharist prepared.
