Lots of good ideas.
Does anyone have experience with evangilizing to your own teenage kids & a semi fallen away wife? My children are 20, 17, and the twins are 14. My wife is a super person but she is so busy she kinda forgets abotu church and god.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The following things have helped God become ever more present in our household in deed and action. My teenage sisters and brothers have all finally come round actually talking about their faith a lot more, they don’t feel a twinge of embarrassment or what have you, when I bring it up. They go to church more now. They’ve come a long ways but their journey is not over.
- the following worked for me - and I’m still walking the journey
- Pray the rosary in the afternoon for 3-4 months straight or for everyday of the year. (preferably when they’re at home). Always pray for your family and your concerns, but also give thanks and praise. * BELIEVE me Mom sows seeds.
- when they ask, why are praying, why are you suddenly so “religious”, just be honest. Keep it simple, " I just realized, God Loves me, I live in God’s Love, and I love him. This God who became man(Jesus) and died so that I could be at his side. This glorious God, who has given you to me to Love."
*At meals pray. Ask if anyone would like to say grace, or incorporate their concerns into your prayer."
- Real men watch ETWN programming as often as possible, like Crossing the Goal especially will be interesting to see in your living room.
- Have the bible & the Catechism of the Catholic Church open or here and about in your house. Have various book about, so they’ll pick them up. “Surprised by Truth - series” is awesome, “God is Love” encyclical by Pope Benedict XVI, The Essential Catholic Survival guide - apologetics", the YCAT (youth version of CCC - readable if they pick it up). One special occasions (birthdays, etc, _ buy them a teens bible) I bought my brother the “LIVE” NRSV Harper collins catholic bible edition, & my little sister - “Break Through” - bibleNAB by St. Mary’s Press. College bibles are available too, if your 20 yr old is in college " St. Mary’s Press College bible is good too or Catholic Answers NAB bible is good, Fireside catholic bible is also very good. Listen to christian music (with the understanding it’s denomination - but it’s great as an evangelical means to share.)

- make time to do something with each of them. With your wife, make sure you take her out - make an experience, not a tab at a dinner table." Make time to listen to her, take time to learn to make a dessert, a side platter or main course meal.
- share your love of God, Jesus, and his church in your own words, this may be through apologetics, post its, emails, actions/example etc.
- Even if your kids aren’t very open to your about their likes and dislike, plan trips with them in mind (hikes). Volunteer at your parish or bigger parish community - they have events, or better ministries, like feeding the homeless, etc. Bring them onboard to “help”.
Always thanks them for what little they are able to give of themselves, and encourage, and uplift them to be better, do better, not because you expect this character of them, but because you love them and want so much for them - this comes from God.
Some of the best results, I’ve gained - when my planned outcomes, failed.
That’s when you let your heart pour out. Why your trying to be a better man, a real man, the man God has called you to be. For your wife, for your children. The world is richer, deeper, knowable yet mysterious, but worth it, oh so worth it, because God is here. He is the center of our hearts and souls, he is everything, and he wants more for us then just “okay” then just “the motions” then just “this.” God loves us, God loves each and every single one of us. And you finally get that.
Trust in God’s love, surrender your woes to the author of Love. Give them the best of your self, so that they will continue to grow to be open to God even when your not there to directly influence them.
