Duke Raises Student Fees to Pay for Sex Change Surgery

I give up, screw the world, I’m going to mars with the mars one program. At least if I die there it won’t be in the company of my fellow humans '-_-

In all seriousness though, this is a joke, right? Please tell me it’s a joke…

This is stupid regardless of your stance on gay rights, etc. My college didn’t force anyone to pay for the eight surgeries I had to have in order to cope with my cerebral palsy. Why should students have to pay for another’s surgery? And a nonessential one at that. If this is not a joke, there is no way it will ever become commonplace. No one will pay tuition for things not school related.

I’ve thought about this. I think Duke is PROUD of their policy, and pleased with the kudos from the LGBT community. I think rich liberal donors might be more inclined to give the school more money. It might lure some star faculty who want to be associated with such a progressive school. Maybe they will get a cut of such surgeries----perhaps the medical school wants to train surgeons to perform them…

Well yes, it is that. I don’t SUPPORT this nonsense, but I fully expect Duke is proud and wants the world to know how “progressive” the school is.

Saw the same story in the Washington Times. That article says Duke is one of 37 schools that cover self mutilation surgery.

If you get a ticket to Mars save me a space. Given the way humanity is going I’m begining to think I’m an alien and need to return to my home planet.
 
I don’t know about Mars, but I am definitely thinking the Moon.

Can we start a Catholic colony on Mars? We could bring a Bishop and priest to make sure we can still get the sacraments, and we won’t have to deal with any of, you know, this…
 
Wow, this is just bizarre. We must pray for the administration at Duke University.
 
Will the university also pay if the student decides to change back again a few years later? Or, by that time perhaps their employer will pay for it. Or Obamacare.

That’s the “gay” agenda for you. They want to force everyone to not only give them a stamp of approval for their sin but to pay for it as well.
