If you are a female and are married to a deacon or a priest, are you not required to be Catholic? How can a man be ordained in the fullness of the Church if his own spouse, the one he took vows with, is not Catholic?
In our diocese, we have an ex-protestant minister becoming a priest. His wife is not Catholic. (True, I have a problem with married priests but if the Vatican allowed it, who am I to question it?)
It would seem, however, if the Vatican is going to allow something like this both the husband and wife should be Catholic.
