Dumb rosary question?

Thank you for all the posts… each answer adds a little more.

I’ve been advised to talk to a priest, and I’m sure I will make that phone call… but I can’t imagine that a priest would ever have the availability to answer my questions, like all of you do. I’m so glad I found this resource!! Thanks for taking the time to answer.

The Mary, spouse of the Holy Spirit concept was very new, very difficult for me at first… Even praying, I couldn’t get my heart settled. But I think I’m okay with it.

Now my babies are awake and I have family coming in a few hours. I don’t know when I’ll get the chance to pray the rosary next, but I’m looking forward to it.

there are many lovely rosary pictures you can buy online or print off the internet if you search for rosary pictures or each Mystery separately. I have a set I got for like $10 of beautiful prints of renaissance art about the size of notebook paper sheets and I put them in a rosary book (a photo album) for myself. I look at each picture of the Mystery and say the ten Hail Marys. Problem solved. There are many children’s books of the rosary you can get also with pictures in them. I also have a DVD of the rosary I got on eBay for about $5 that shows works of art for each rosary as you repeat the prayers with others (but sometimes the rhythm is a little ‘off’ for me and it can be aggravating so I mute it and say my prayers myself.) I have a video I watch from EWTN for the Divine Mercy Chaplet and I also have a set of prints I bought for the Stations of the Cross too.

This is wonderful news for us all, AlwaysAsking!!! Thank you very much for sharing of yourself - it can take much courage and fortitude…and indeed even prudence and wisdom. All gifts of The Holy Spirit alive, active and fruitful in you. “By their fruits you will know them”

May God ever bless you more and more richly on your journey…and the babies too! And keep asking and sharing - I am sure that it is also more help and source of blessings to others indeed than you will ever know here on earth.

If you are able, do seek out a priest or a spiritual director to talk with - they are blessed and charismatic in unique ways by virtue of being priest and/or spiritual director. But then again, the thought just occured to me, perhaps indeed we here on CAF are uniquely blessed to grow and share, encourage, instruct and inform, affirm and journey with each other…and because of our very sincere desire to be so.

The second method seems designed to help keep one focused on the mystery in question. (I use the first, but it’s a devotion–you can only ‘get it wrong’ by doing it slapdash w/o giving any thought beyond “one more chore on my to-do list for the day”.) I really like Michael O’Brien’s The Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary which has art and meditations for each mystery.
