F*** Cancer is a legitimate Canadian charity, from what I understand. It sells merch (using things like a ribbon, a skull and crossbones or other things in place of the letter U) and sponsors fundraisers and events.

F*** Cancer is also an extremely common catchphrase among most of my friends, just about all of whom know or have in their family a cancer victim or survivor.

My guess is that Dunkin’ was aware some people might be offended but decided to partner with the charity anyway on the basis that more of their customers would be supportive. Most people these days do not think of the F word as all that bad, though they might not use it in front of their grandma or in church.

I tend to think if the organization is doing good things to help cancer victims, I’m not going to worry about the slogan. If I don’t like it, I can donate somewhere else.

I wouldn’t call it obscene, but not in the best taste. If you are really concerned, you might want to contact the corporate office to ask about it.

:twocents:This is just another example of the slow drift away from Godliness, what is good, what is kind, what is lovely, what is gracious, and what is pleasing to God.

No amount of time on the slow boat of secularism will change the fact that the foul slang word f*** is a filthy distortion of the joyous act between a man and woman to produce a human life. It does not matter how commonplace the word is or it’s usage. We can’t entirely blame young people for thinking nothing is wrong with using this word. a share of blame for this, goes to their parents and those before them.

When these conversations come up, it is a new opportunity to love our neighbor, not condemn them but to set the record straight, for them and for us, that this type of language is NOT ok, and that it is entirely displeasing to God. What a shame for dunkin doughnuts.

It’s rude, but not an affront to God…there are better places to aim your wrath than an attempt to fight cancer!

You are a wonderful friend to all of us at CAF! But, will all due respect;) :

Colossians 3:8
But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

Matthew 15:10-11
And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

And finally:

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. (NIV, Matthew 5:17–18)

This may seem like overkill for a small point my good brother but I think it is important.
But [and there is that word again.] because I like you, I will concede this:

1 John 5:17
All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death. 😃 Years ago I used to cuss like a sailor.

Indeed, the people I know who use this expression have had cancer, know someone fighting it, or they’ve lost someone to it. It’s a venting sentiment.

Years ago I used to cuss like a sailor.
Agree to disagree, I don’t think the f word really has much sexual connotation anymore…
…and years ago, I used to BE a sailor! And I didn’t use the f word very much!

Let me start by saying that I like Dunkin Donuts coffee.

This is a very sad story about a 38 woman with 6 children with breast cancer and she is advertising a card to sell to fund some research but the card is obscene. Hope I can post this here as I could not believe Dunkin Donuts would put out such a card.

Dunkin Donuts needs to clear this up quickly .

Where is this story of hers???
All I see is an ad to sell the cards.

Are we allowed to sell stuff on CAF?

If you scroll down, it’s on the listing page. It did not show up in my Chrome browser right away, I had to reload a couple times, which makes me think something is going on with eBay site or with how the listing was set up, but it’s there.

I’m a tad suspicious of the story as she is basically using it to sell 5 dollar gift cards at an inflated price and there are a lot of scam artists out there who aren’t above inventing illnesses.

Also, I don’t think the intention of posting the eBay listing on CAF was to sell the card, the OP is objecting to Dunkin’s use of the f word on the card and linked the listing to show us the picture of the card.

Exactly. I’m pretty sure if I or my loved one had cancer, we’d be tossing a few non-blasphemous 4-letter words around from time to time.

Hey, put a bronco on the card and change the f to a b! Problem solved!

Everyone is angry at cancer and would certainly like a cure but certainly a major corporation could come up with an appropriate way to donate. It is just another assault on desensitizing everyone. Shame.

Where was all the outrage when ******* was saying much worse? As long as you’re “pro-life” and want to help save babies, then it’s a-okay to be a potty-mouth. A lot of this outrage would have been helpful last year before November. And we should be upset with Dunkin Donuts? Really? 🤷

That ship was set sail by those who appointed ****** savior of the unborn babies when there were a lot of legit pro-life conservatives who didn’t spout expletives and obscenities every time they opened their mouths. Shameful is right. No pun intended.

Wait. You are outraged at DD but then display it on CAF?🤷

It is OK to have these cards distributed all over the USA for cancer for eternity but to call attention to it so that adults can call Dunkin Donuts and complain and maybe have this card taken off the market is terrible??

I don’t have a problem with the campaign.
I find your hypocrisy amusing and am considering getting a doughnut that I wouldn’t have normally purchased because it sounds amazing…😉
