October Sky
An uplifting true story movie about the youth of Homer Hickam Jr.
It stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Homer and is a beautiful story that makes me cry and laugh every time I watch it. It is a movie for the entire family.
Millennium Actress
This is one of the best Japanese animation movies I have ever seen. And I know and love my Japanese animation. This is about an actress named Chiyoko Fujiwara, who is having her life made into a movie. While the movie’s director and his cameraman are interviewing her for research purposes, we get to see her life from childhood all the way up to the present. What I think is a nice touch is that both the director and the cameraman actually get to communicate with her younger selves during the flashbacks. The movie is a beautiful celebration of life and I highly recommend it. The movie is only subtitled by the way, so I hope you don’t mind reading subtitles.
I second October Sky. I also like Return to Me, Remember the Titans, Serendipity, and, of course, all of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies:thumbsup:
