What would happen to a Catholic’s soul, if he/she were to die without anyone knowing, without being able to receive the Last Rites, no confession, etc. ? How should I pray for a soldier who is MIA? Thank you and God bless.

Thomas

Just pray for the repose of that person’s soul, with the assumption that he’s in purgatory.

We live every day, every hour, as if it were our last.

We avoid sin. When we do commit a grave sin, we make an act of contrition and we go to Confession.

We receive the Eucharist often, stay in friendship with God.

The Last Rites are simply Confession, the Eucharist and Anointing. One will not die in a state of mortal sin if one does not allow mortal sin to take hold of their lives.

For a soldier who is MIA, simply ask God to provide the graces that are needed for that person.

Pray and leave the rest to God. It’s way above our pay grade. God is merciful, always.

Happens all the time. One should pray for the person and hope they were in a state of grace.
