Has anyone used that little electronic rosary device? It recites the rosary, keeps track of what mysteries are for what day and beeps at 3 pm so you can pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I bought it because I am back in the church after being gone for 15 years and I can’t remember any of the mysteries. It’s very distracting to have to read a pamphlet or a booklet when I’m trying to pray the rosary. It comes with headphones so I am hoping I can use it while in adoration every day.

I just wondered if anyone else uses one. I’m hoping to re-learn the mysteries and then not use it anymore. I like all my senses tuned into the adoration but I am hoping this will help me temporarily.

Any other ideas would be great.

I would actually recommend NOT using it in Adoration. In the presence of The Lord, do you really want to be tuning out the very source you have come to adore? I try to pray the rosary according to the days assigned each of the mysteries however; if I am not ‘feeling it’, I pray the rosary in the background of my mind while in the foreground I speak to Mary with my concerns and ask her to present these concerns to the Lord. In adoration however; when I pray the rosary I do so as a presentation to the Lord and take full advantage of being in the Lord’s presence, presenting my concerns, my gratuities, my blessings, my adoration of Him as well as the beauty of this life. I hope that helps. :gopray2:

OK thanks for the advice. I can always use the device at home then and still go to adoration for an hour a day as I do now. I am finding that adoration is deepening my walk with the Lord in ways I could have never anticipated. My entire outlook, desire to not sin, and commitment to God and His Church have grown astronomically. I cannot believe how much it changes me. I am not a person who looks for “thrills and chills” or expects miracles but I am in awe at what adoration does for me spiritually and even mentally as well.

You made a good point, if it ain’t broke I’m not fixing it. I will keep my device for use at home.

Thanks. 👍

Hi all, yes have used it also Devine Mercy chaplet, it is lovely to have it there at the ready on my computer

I use a free Ipod app “IRosary”, which lists the prayers and the stations used for the rosary and has the Divine Mercy Chaplet, though it does not beep at 3 pm. Using this app has helped me in saying the Rosary and Rosary has helped me greatly.

I think it’s fine, if you use this device like a paper prayer book. Which means that you’ll turn off the audio and read the prayers yourself. So, I don’t think there’s a need for headset. Also, make sure you can turn off the “clicking” sounds when you press any key. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I thought you meant the virtual rosary. This I have downloaded on to my pc, so as soon as I log on there it is:thumbsup:

I didn’t now they had such a thing, I want that on my computer.:gopray2:

Well goodness gracious me, I just have the beads…a primitive computer device:D:thumbsup:

I use a similar application but in the privacy of my home. I will use a printed prayer book when at Church and Mass.

I had never even heard of the mysteries before my conversion/baptism last year and into this year! 😛 All it took was a few very intensive days of reading them online, then reading the actual mysteries in the Bible itself. This alternation helped to keep my mind ‘sharp’ while I worked to memorise/learn them. It may be less complicated and distracting to simply do it the ‘old-fashioned’ non-technological way: by reading them on the paper itself. 😃

Welcome to my world. Whenever we get to the Hail Holy Queen, I turn mute because I don’t know it.

I’m finding that using it while typing reports at work is a great way to use prayers while working. I do NOT count it as saying the rosary because my full attention is elsewhere but i enjoy having it playing so I can say some of the rosary at work. I still use my beads and attend Mass every day --I always make it a point to arrive early to pray the rosary. So it’s a good little device but it shouldn’t take the place of personal prayers.

At the church I attend for weekday Mass, there are several prayers after the completion of the entire rosary.

Hail Holy Queen
Memorare
St. Michael Prayer
Guardian Angel Prayer
Rosary Prayer

That’s just the ones I can think of right now.

I am beginning to memorize them but I still need a “cheat sheet.” These are all the things I missed from age 10 - age 34.

Is this an actual separate device, like a Palm or something? I have never heard of it but being that I am still trying to memorize the mysteries, I’d love one.
