left ear right/ right ear wrong. If you are young and want to pierce your ear get er done. for what it is worth paint your body orange dye your hair green and call yourself a carrot.
I agree with the old ladiesHmm… I’ve never associated hair colour with promiscuity. I’ve had all those hair colours (not offended at your comment though), but it never occurred to me that anyone would make assumptions about my sexuality based on my hair colour. I’m just puzzled by it. For me, the colours that I dyed my hair represented some of the beauty in the world that I wanted to capture. This is me with orange hair.

One of the reasons I dyed it was to capture the sunlight with my hair. Another reason is that as a white girl in Asia, I’m already stared at on the street quite a bit. At least if my hair is a punky colour, people have a reason to stare. I get complimented a lot, generally by old ladies. It just gives me a boost of confident to have my hair the colour of flowers or sunshine.
Last year, I had red, orange, pink, turquoise, green, and purple hair. Now it’s back to brown, but I’m going blond this weekend I hope. Not allowed to dye my hair at my current job, so I can only choose natural-looking colours.
You don’t need hair dye to boost your confidence! You are already beautiful.Hmm… I’ve never associated hair colour with promiscuity. The thread was started over 6 years ago. We’re not to resurrect old threads and this one is ancient. Here’s a really interesting article from Fr Peter Joseph which outlines some general principles regarding the morality of body piercings and tatoos: latinmassmagazine.com/articles/articles_2002_SU_Joseph.html
Sorry but research in semiotics also show that such information is moot. Cultural associations with certain colors, shapes, and signs grow arbitrary over time. Society itself can easily reshape those associations in little less than a year (case in point, the German swastika and the Christian cross). The article posted by the previos person is wonderful. Also, if I were you, I would wonder as to the why do you want to do it. If it is only because of fashion, I would give you the advice of being careful and do some research as to the origins of what you want to do and what is the significance.
You’ve just prove then point. Tear drops mean murder? Not necessarily. A person could tattoo themselves with a tear drop to represent not even a tear. It could represent water. It could even just be for the aesthetic value found in the shape and color. The most typical example is the tear drop tatto which actually means that the person wearing it has committed murder and each tear drop represents a murder. Same with piercing, belly button piercing is code language for prostitutes and the same goes for other kinds of piercing so you should do some investigation as to what is behind it and why you want it.
