This is a treasure trove of information about our great great grandfathers in Christianity, the ones who helped establish RCC:

If only we modern day Catholics immerse deeper into the lives of our early Catholic brothers, we could learn to be true apostles too!

I have a tremendous passion for the Early Church Fathers, my website will verify that. They have truly impacted my Faith, and even played a very big part in my conversion to the Catholic Faith. Part of my mission is to help get people aquainted with them and for them to get some of the same blessings that they have given me.

Just a note, I would consider rewording about how they are the “ones who helped establish the RCC.” To be 100% accurate it was Jesus Christ who established the Catholic Church, and the Early Church Fathers are those who are a part of that Church. I am sure that you did not mean anything less, but some non-Catholics might think that the Church was establish by someone other than Christ.

Dear Copland,
I have been to so many apologetics threads that I always assume that someone does not agree something in some ways.
I used the word 'helped" to emphasize the fact that they did not establish RCC by themselves but followed what Jesus started.

I assume you mean the Catholic Church as the RCC is just one Church among many Catholic Churches that submit to the Pope.

As the title of the thread implies, it refers to the church that submits to the Pope and the Early Fathers since the beginning of Papal Succession from St Peter to Benedict XVI.

Christ established the Catholic Church.
The Roman Catholic Church (i.e. the Latin Church/Rite) is just one of many Churches that submit to the authority of the Pope. You make it appear as if the RCC was specifically the Church established by Christ and there are no other Catholic Churches that submit to the Pope.

I did not state anything to make it appear the way you said it.

Having gone past that, can you mention any other church that Christ established from 33 AD onwards?

He established the Catholic Church.
The Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Catholic Churches are part of the Catholic Church.
I’m simply saying if you are talking about the Church established by Christ you should state the Catholic Church and not the RCC which is only one of the twenty plus Churches which submit to the Pope.

I think he did answer it… He said he established the CC… I bet he’ll say no to any others after that… He’s merely stating that the RCC is a rite of the CC, not trying to argue with you:(

Christ only established one Church and that is the Catholic Church. The Roman Rite is part of the Catholic Church.
How many times do you need an answer to your question?
 
This thread has taken an unfortunate turn right from the start. Chancellare, correct me if I am wrong, but I think that you got a little too sensitive about the concern about the wording. I should have just ignored it and allowed it to be a fruitful thread. I knew what you meant and I am sorry for influencing the derailing of this thread.

Thanks Ruthie.
With Early Fathers, we know our roots and the unbroken link from the only Church Christ established and handed over from Pope to Pope.
