I’m seeing what you want.Once again Steve, thanks for this, but it doesn’t address the question. The questions is about evidence from the early church explaining why, not actual explanations from you or later sources. I’m looking for evidence from the early church, that’s all.
I’m saying, that, the sources you want, the Catholic Church in the first centuries, is the same Catholic Church we see today. I quoted in my previous posts ( #3, #22, ) sources that use internal links to Catholic Church docs that validate what the Catholic Church has always taught. The Catholic Church with Peter at the helm that gave us the NT and the ECF’s, is the same Catholic Church we have today with Pope Francis at the helm. It’s not a different Church. The Catholic Church knows her own history.
