I recently read a book written by the woman who inspired the show Ghost Whisperer. She tells about how she’s been able to see earthbound ghosts since she can remember, but not those who’ve crossed over(in Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory). She says whenever anybody dies there is a light they can cross into that is there for about 78 hours after death. Most people(and animals for that matter) cross after the service, but certain people don’t go into the light and remain earthbound. Since this woman says she is a devout Catholic and has worked with her diocese for people having trouble in their homes, I was curious what the Catholic opinion on sprits like this.

Here is an interview about the book:

Doesn’t sound right to me. Sounds like you can avoid judgement, or that if you don’t go to the light you might miss out on heaven or hell. I don’t think you’ll have a choice, but hopefully you’ll have friendly guidance.
