Earthquake at Jesus' Crucifixion?

I read that there are no historical accounts of an earthquake at the death of Jesus. and that its only the bible that says there was one. Is this true? Or was there not really an earthquake?
 
I don’t know what you are reading, but it is wrong. There have been several historic studies in recent years from non biblical sources that an earthquake occurred in what is now Syria, and Lebanon on the day of Christ’s death. These studies were published in scholarly journals- notably those of Columbia University, Harvard, and Oxford.

I can vouch for this, and I would reference a link if I could but I cannot find one at the moment. I also read a study which concluded that there was in fact an earthquake at the moment of Christ’s crucifixion.
