Put the chocolate in along the Texas coast, the coffee in along the Florida coast. Use outboard motors to make the latte.
A latte regatta.
vern humphrey:
Somewhere between Texas and Florida, just about anyone could find the taste they like.
I think there should be hot lemon along the Florida coast. And coffee along the Mexican coast. With Tia Maria
vern humphrey:
Not a bad idea – we’ll have to wrap the equator with copper wire, though.
That’s true. We will have created quite a hefty motor. Besides keeping the magnetic poles in line, I wonder what else we could do with it?

Oh! Oh! I know! Ask me! A Mega-Aurora Borealis Light Show. We could have super rock concerts on Cuba.

Chocolate?

Did somebody say “chocolate”??

Well you know what they say…

East is least and west is best.

Betcha only Vern knows what I’m talking about… [maybe cargopilot also…]

Context, context, context…

Further southt from there, we could rim the coast with salt and make tequila.

And have the windward passage filled with Cuba Libras.

Betcha you’re the guy who threw the overalls in Mrs Murphy’s chowder.

And subtext. Don’t forget subtext.

Brillig. We’ll have lots of salt from the hairdryer evaporation.

Oliver and the two North boys?
You’re getting close.http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon12.gif

On a large-scale topographic map, you’ll see a diagram with three arrows – one is true north (the direction to the North Pole), one is magnetic north (the direction the compass needle points) and one is Grid North – the direction of the central meridian for that particular gore.

For navigation purposes, we use Grid North because it’s constant throughout the gore. The difference between Grid North and Magnetic North is called “declination” and it’s magnitude is the “GM Angle.” To convert from Grid to Magnetic, or back, look at the declination – if the Grid North arrow is east of magnetic that is Declination East.

Let’s say you have Declination East with a GM angle of 5 degrees, and you want to shoot an azimuth of 45 degrees. Your compass will read 40 degrees as you travel a grid azimuth of 45 degrees.

To calculate, remember, “East is Least, West is Best.” Or “Declination East, Compass Least. Declination West, Compass Best.”

Thanks for that. I didn’t know that. But I sure do see how East is Least and West is Best.

Control the Magnetic Pole Drift and control the world. Bwa-ha-ha!

How far will it drift over Christmas? Will Santa be able to find his way back? 😃

I don’t know. Is the North Pole fixed into the Arctic ice? Or is it fixed into the Magnetic Pole itself so that when the Magnetic Pole drifts, Santa’s Workshop drifts also? I hope the North Pole doesn’t drift into Alaska, because then we may never get Santa back from those Murrikins. 😉

I read an article way back in 1968, I think Scientific American, and it said that the earth has a tail up there in the North Pole upwards into space. The length of the tail is 2 X the diameter of the earth. The tail is not straight but curves a bit to one side.

Human eyes cannot see the tail because it is infrared. But with instruments, humans can see it. Birds, insects however can see the tail because the eyes of birds and insects cans see these infrared lights. The author in that article was trying to give a theory on how birds migrate vast distances, and his theory was that the migratory birds were looking at the curve of that tail as though it were a compass.
