In a spirit of brotherly love, peace, and ecumenical dialogue with Roman Catholics between both the Eastern Rite Catholics of the Byzantine Rite, and the Eastern Orthodox Catholic Christians of the Byzantine Rite, I am going to try to start a daily or at least weekly version of a Litany I call East meets West. I will invoke the prayers of all the Saints for the day both in the calendars of the Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite and the Byzantine Rite of the East.

The Roman Rite is by far the largest of the Western/Latin Rites, with over a billion Christians belonging to it, and the Byzantine/Constantinopolitan Rite is by far the largest of the Eastern Rites with several hundred million Christians following it.

The Litany will be broken into five categories:
  1. Saints who are both recognized as such and celebrated today in the Roman and Byzantine Rites
  2. Saints who are recognized as Saints in both Rites, but celebrated today only in the Byzantine Rite.
  3. Saints who are recognized as Saints in both Rites, but celebrated today only in the Roman Rite.
  4. Saints who are both recognized and celebrated today only in the Byzantine Rite.
  5. Saints who are both recognized and celebrated today only in the Roman Rite.
My list of Saints (martyrology) is being sourced from Catholic Saints dot info http://catholicsaints.info/ for the Roman Rite, and by the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Baltimore, Maryland Orthodox Calendar. HOLY TRINITY RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, a parish of the Patriarchate of Moscow for the Byzantine Rite.
