Please can someone explain to me why Passover this year is towards the end of April, 22-30th to be exact. So why was Easter a whole month earlier this year?

The date of Easter is determined by a lunisolar calendar similar to but not exactly the same as the Hebrew calendar.

This difference is most noticeable in those years when the first full moon of Spring occurs between March 21 and March 26. Christian opting to celebrate Easter that month; Jews opting to celebrate Passover the next month.

The formula used for the Jewish calendar and the Christian calendar are different. The Christian calendar is not based on the Jewish. There are a few, Christian calendars however, based on the Julian, or Gregorian, or the Greek new calendar. For the Greek new calendar, the century leap years (bold) are different than the Gregorian:

2000 2100 2200 2300 2400 2500 2600 2700 2800 2900 3000 3100 3200 3300 3400 3500 3600 3700

Gregorian use these century leap years (bold) and is not as accurate:

2000 2100 2200 2300 2400 2500 2600 2700 2800 2900 3000 3100 3200 3300 3400 3500 3600 3700

Greek new calendar, Easter falls on the Sunday (midnight based) following the first full moon after the vernal equinox, time from the City of Jerusalem, Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

We call Christ our ‘Passover Lamb’ and we know He died on Passover and celebrated the Passover meal with His disciples; whilst the celebration of Easter is based on the pagan goddess Ishtar and caused a big to-do about 200 years after the death of Christ (the Quartodeciman Controversy) There seems to be a lot of evidence that the early Christians celebrated Passover as the time when they recalled the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ. This seems to make much more sense to me.
