Easter Dinner

So, what’s on y’alls Easter menu? It’s my first Easter away from the family, and I’d like to do a little something for my first (Catholic) Easter.
 
This will be my first Easter on my own (my Father passed away just over 5 years ago and my Mother passed away last July 😦 ). I will most probably have a meal that involves lamb.
 
If I were only serving DH & myself it would be lamb but since we’re celebrating Easter with friends, none of whom share my taste for lamb, it will be ham with all the fixin’s (mashed & scalloped potatoes, veggies, salad & peppery beer bread). Apple crisp for dessert.
 
It will be with the in-laws and the meal never changes!! Ham ( of course:rolleyes:) stuffed cabbage, homemade chicken noodle soup ( with homemade noodles:thumbsup:), breaded chicken, mashed potatoes, corn ( frozen from the garden last summer), green beans, also from the garden, a few different salads, every type of cookie known to man…( really we end up with more cookies then anything else). My mother-in-law will make Easter bread and nut roll…mmmm, can’t wait!

This sounds delicious! I LOVE stuffed cabbage! Are your in-laws Polish?
 
My Mom died on Easter Sunday, actually, it will be 21 years tomorrow.
This year have invited my Dad and Sis over…not quite sure what to prepare.
Will not be ham as DH and Dad do not like that…Not lamb leg DH and DS do not like…
Am thinking of doing some chicken(for DS), shrimp(for DH) and lamb(for me)…my Dad and Sis are not fussy (like me and will eat everything) and to go with that will be rice and some veggies…Have to decide on dessert…and DS said he does want his egg hunt …

Yes, Polish and Slovak, so we have very yummy meals when we are together! I think there will be at least 45 of us this year!!
 
Is there a way to make lamb so that it tastes good? 😛

Seriously, though. What’s a good lamb recipe?
 
Chinese food! We’re going out.

I do most of the cooking and Holy Week is a very busy time for us musicians!!!😃
 
Pascha (bread w/ braided cross on top), hrudka (egg cheese), ham…
 
Sadly, I’ll be spending my Easter Sunday at work once I’m all done with Mass. Depending on how smoothly the two (maybe three) funeral services lined up go, I may or may not be able to make a full meal for myself. Ah, well. There’s always Boston Market, I guess. :o
