I managed to get to the Good Friday liturgy today after work. It was as busy as I have ever seen the church. I’ve never attended this particular liturgy before, so was completely unprepared for what it involved.
I nervously watched everyone line up to kiss the crucifix, to see what was required, and then I took my place in the queue. I got there, bowed, and kissed His feet, then made the sign of the cross. Next time, God willing, I will be able to do it much more mindfully, but even in my clumsy first time efforts, I was tearful as I got back to my seat, so aware this Easter, perhaps more than I have ever been before, of the enormity of what He has done for me.

God bless you. I just got back from the service, too, and it was very moving. Catholics do not shy away from the Cross. I’ve come to really appreciate that as I grow older.
