Hey there!

I just want to ask a question, particularly about the Easter vigil.
Who here just like me whose favorite part is the Gloria and the ringing of the bells?
As that part of the Liturgy is very intriguing. The priest chants the “Gloria in Excelsis Deo!” then the lights return and they ring the bell. Even me as a child that is what I have been waiting for the entire liturgy.

Who here can relate with me?

If not comment down below, What is your favorite part of the liturgy?
God Bless!

Easter Vigil I have lived through 5 times. I love all of it as it seems new to me every time.

My favourite one was 2014 baptised confirmed and experienced the Holy Eucharist first time.

I don’t know if I would call it my favourite but it is certainly wonderful.

The first time I attended Easter Vigil I didn’t know anything about the liturgy, and I was blown away by the whole celebration. This moment in particular felt like the highlight of the liturgy, and I teared up a bit. I love it!

Easter Vigil is certainly one of my favorites. The Exultet, when done well, just gives me chills and tears.

I pretty much love all of the Mass. I am brought to tears many times during Easter Vigil.

I left my first Easter Vigil saying: “Now I have finally celebrated Easter!”. That was the year before I was received into the Catholic Church. 2014 is my reception year as well and it brings me nothing else but pure joy when I think about it. The priest has a beautiful voice so he sang the Exultet and the whole Mass.

I have been a sponsor three times for both candidates and one catechumen, and those Easter Vigils were equally joyful as my own reception Vigil. It is also great to introduce the candidates and catechumen to my own sponsor. She then becomes their “granny sponsor” and we all have a good time drinking tea and coffee. 🤣

Any time the Gloria is in Latin, it gives me goose bumps - esp with the bells. 🙂

Yes, the Exsultet is my favorite part as well. In fact, I think its the most beautiful hymn in the patrimony of the Roman Rite.

I have watched several different Easter vigils from various churches online. I do love the Gloria as well as the Litany of the Saints. My favorite Easter vigil will probably be the one when I am confirmed in a few years.
