So apparently, when an Islamic community is attacked by a white supremacist, it is an attack on Islam itself and we must stand with the Muslim community against white supremacy and ban all guns. But when an attack is made on an “Easter worshiper community” by Islamic extremists on a very holy day in which many many many more people are killed, then we just stand against hate in general and move on, at least according to Obama and Hillary Clinton… Are we somehow not recognized by these people? 😡

I cannot speak for Obama or Hillary Clinton, but I, for one, am opposed to ALL terrorists, including Islamic ones. And, with regard to banning all guns, we can only speak for our own country’s policies. However, in general, the fewer guns available to buy or steal by terrorist groups, the better.

Political intrigue. Neither of those figures receives much of the devout Christian vote, so they have little to lose. They pander to various groups for the sake of votes and power, from illegal aliens to various non-Judeo/Christian religions. Especially those whose most fervent practitioners tend to blow things up.

My advice? Turn the media off. All of it. You will be much happier and you will still hear about things that you should be praying for.

Yes well very very good point here in New Zealand we held vigils in our churches we raised fund’s for them some of us women even wore headscarves in support of them and we allowed them to use our churches while they didn’t have the use of there mosques we prayed with them and for them and we stood United. Now to see that these bombings in Sri Lanka was done by Islamic extremists is like a huge slap in the face.
It has destroyed the unity we had with them not only that but the Islamic community kept saying repeatedly it’s not fair we wouldn’t hurt anyone we are a peaceful religion we believe in the same God as you. I do not believe not all of them are peacefull I also believe we should not have so much hate in this world yes we have different religions but should it really matter at the end of the day there is only one God.

Matt Walsh and other Catholic commentators like him make a living creating hysteria where none should exist.

Pretty much. I’m really not sure why the phrase “Easter Worshippers” is setting so many teeth on edge.

“Christmas shopping” :shopping: is a phrase used colloquially. I never thought it meant shopping to purchase Christmas.

I would not have thought “Easter worshipers” meant anything odd.

I find it curious that the whole world mourned Notre Dame (which is understandable) but the response to Sri Lanka has been fairly clinical and sterile. Social media, even CAF, was abuzz with the tragedy of Notre Dame. There has been response to Sri Lanka but it’s much less passionate in general. It begs the question, why is the loss of a structure of more emotional importance than the loss of lives? The most passionate thing I’ve seen about Sri Lanka is an arguement of semantics: Easter worshippers versus Christians, Islamic terrorists versus terrorists. If our biggest talking point after a tragedy that claimed 290 lives is about how we talk about it, we need to reconsider where our values lie.

Not generally a fan of this type of stuff, but I think this is something to get riled about. We’re not “Easter Worshippers”. We’re Christians.

I personally lament the immediate politicization of this horrible tragedy.

To be fair the response feom the west would be the same no matter who died in Sri Lanka. People feel removed from the situation because it happened far away in a place they’ve never been. If it happened in “the west” people would care more.

To a certain extent, I get your point, but I still think some are making a mountain out of a molehill.

I know. That’s what bothers me. People are more worked up about how we talk about it than they were yesterday when it was happening and no one had mentioned “Easter worshippers”.

Because we have a name, we’ve been around 2000 years, and our brothers and sisters were slaughtered by animals. The same animals that the people who used the term “Easter worshipers” instead of Christian try to make out as victims at every turn, and import into our countries by the thousands.
The term isn’t referring to people worshiping Easters. Instead it’s an economical way of referring to those who were worshiping on Easter. Who doesn’t know that Christians worship on Easter?

The need to be outraged here far surpasses the reality of the situation.

Don’t forget the huge amount of ISIS/Al Qeada fatigue in the world at the moment. They routinely kill large numbers of people. These attacks have unfortunately been reduce to a footnote in the news.

Perhaps. But they do raise important questions that the MSM ignore or trivialize. Peaceful Christians were attacked by Muslims on Easter. Just imagine the hysteria the MSM would create if it were the other way around.

Hysteria is wrong. However, the notion that by wearing headscarves and praying with Muslims will usher in world peace is fallacious at best. It has never worked and never will.

They are , although through sensationalist means (which has to be done to capture attention) at least expose the hypocrisy of ‘world leaders’

I’m extremely confused. This attack is all I’ve seen on the news since yesterday morning. I couldn’t glance at social media without seeing links to news stories about it there, too. Seemed like there was and is PLENTY of hysteria in major news outlets about this tragedy. ??

How on earth is this an economical way to refer to Christians?
