I’ve always thought that each region must only have one bishop, regardless of what rite. For an example, Western Europe where people are mostly Latin Rite would have Latin Bishops. Eastern Europe and further East where people belong to the Eastern Rite will have bishops that adhere to Eastern traditions, but now when cultural difusion is so widespread, esp. in America, there can be many bishops per region if that region has many different rites.
Why does this happen? I mean if there are 2 or 3 bishops in one region, do they have influence on one another? What about the archbishops? Since archbishops are Latin, shouldn’t there also be Archbishops that are also Eastern? Then we must move to Eastern Popes as well.
