The teachings of a Byzantine Catholic Church for example would be different in many ways in terms of theology to a Western Catholic.

Well, yes. Theology is not dogma or doctrine.

Byzantines have different discipline and different theology.

They have different theology because Western Christians typically use a scholastic approach to theology, while Eastern Christians take a mystic approach to theology.

Western society often needed explications for everything, while Eastern society often doesn’t.

Also in the East bishops are almost all monks. While in the West, there are a lot more diocesan priests becoming bishops, so the West has less of a monastic view to theology than the East.

The issue of original sin or ancestral sin is semantics. The theoretical Adam & Eve our original, ancestral parents, committed the original sin. The first sin!!’
We both believe in the Real Presence in communion. Some other cultural worship differences don’t matter. We worship the same Trinitarian God. We have the same Bible w a few differences. But, if God is pulling you towards Eastern Orthodox, go. Pray about it. Talk to your Pastor.

As the pope had died at the time of the abomination of a delivery, it was without force ab initio.
Why then did it take 911 years to lift the excommunication of Michael Cerularius and all his followers?
It seems like if any one of the Popes after 1054 all the way up to 1965 had an issue with the validity of the excommunication of Michael Cerularius and all his followers, then he should have said so. Is it right to leave the Eastern Orthodox in the dark about the excommunications and not say anything contrary to the excommunications until 911 years after the fact? Ipso facto, that would seem to indicate that the Roman Church had accepted the excommunications as valid, as the Eastern Orthodox did.
Actually, that’s not the only reason.
Yes there were other reasons. For example, another reason for the excommunication of Michael Cerularius and all of his followers, was that the East allowed a married clergy.
