Hi. The Catholic mom youtube channel gave us a recommendation to read a devotional book for Lent but it’s not a Catholic book (Uncovering the love of Jesus)and even though I may still buy it (I’m not sure how I feel yet about that) it made me want to ask you all are there any new or classic books to read for Lent from our faith ? I have some Catholic books on my bookshelf I should probably just pick one. Any Gospel in particular as well?
Thanks everybody , I hope you all have a blessed day.

Franciscan Media and The Catholic Company sell a lot of little “Lent meditations” books that have like one short meditation a day for each day of Lent, often based on different saints (St. Therese, St. Maximilian, St. Alphonse Liguori etc) These are very easy reading and only take a couple minutes of your time each day. Churches also often hand out such booklets for free.

There’s also the “Little Black Book” for Lent, which you can buy as a booklet for 4 bucks or get (along with all the other seasonal books) for 10 dollars as a phone app. Its meditations take 6 minutes per day. Churches sometimes hand out these “Little Books” for free also.

Second for the Little Black Book. Have tried many, I still find this one to be perfect

Imitation of Christ.
Easy to pick up and read. But it will make you anti-social!

oh no! what happens if you read it while already being antisocial?😊😊 lol. That was my first thought since that describes me a bit as far as my preference for being home way over being anywhere outside except Church… I have that book and am having a hard time finding it the app for black book so maybe i’ll read that one thank you.

Word of Fire has a really good Lenten Gospel reflection series with space to journal.
