Hi, all.

I’m struggling with an eating disorder and lots of stress in my life right now. It’s harming me and my family, but worst of all, it’s destroying my relationship with God. Please, please pray for me that I’ll be able to make a good confession today, get right with God, and find professional treatment this week (hopefully tomorrow).

The Virgin Mary has helped people I know overcome addictions and she has always helped me, no matter what sort of trouble I’ve been in. I know there’s hope and that she and Jesus will do their part. Please pray that I’ll be able to do mine.

Thank you so much.

In Christ,
bookish

Eating disorders are difficult to deal with. I try to look to the saints in difficulty. St. Dymphna is the patron saint of of those suffering for nervous and mental affictions which is really the root of eating disorders.

I will be praying for you.

Lord Jesus,You said,
“I have come to set the captives free.”
We are captive and need Your healing touch.
Free us, Lord, from our addictions,
so that we will be:
…free from the cares and worries that stifle our happiness;
…free from sins that cling to us, and to which we cling;
…free from all compulsive behavior
that prevents us from becoming what You, Lord,
have planned for us.
Bring us, loving Savior,
to the experience of abundant life
which You promised.

Amen.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Our good God please help bookish towards a wholesome makeover of all that motivates and conducts her whole inner and outer world.
Please flood bookish with all that is life-giving, joyful, peaceful, and holy.

Please inspire bookish to a wholesome makeover of her inner self, helping her to a more joyful and peaceful life, regardless of stresses and adversity.
You loved her into existence. Please let that love wholly claim her

Lord, please help Bookish to keep her strong faith in you so she will surely be able to be healed of her eating disorder. Strong faith in you heals, as the Bible shows us, and so I am confident that Bookish will be healed of her eating disorder. You can do all things, Lord, so please help Bookish to be strong, patient with herself, courageous, and humble and aware that she is truly helpless and most dependant on you. This humility and dependancy will take her far, as she lets you do all the work in her and for her…she will only need to submit herself to your loving providence with total confidence in your merciful love and with total abandonment to your merciful love. May she find a good doctor to help her and then may she let you do your work in her life. May she know that you will do big things in her and that she doesn’t have to do big things herself. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You have willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental disease, addictions and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. .

Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be Your will. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, as is and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell,
lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy.
Amen

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins,
my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Praying as well for the intercession of St. Lydwine of Shiedham, patroness of those
afflicted with prolonged suffering, St. Maximillian Kolbe, and Servant of God Fr Nelson Baker, whether able to post or not. **
