Would it be wrong to eat more than required so long as it doesn’t reach the stage of gluttony? For instance, usually after lunch I do not feel full and still can stomach in a few snacks. I could be considered underweight and short for my age and I think eating more would certainly benefit to boost my height and weight. Would this be okay?

Are you still growing? Then eat healthy foods and don’t worry. You need more calories during a growth spurt, so it’s only natural that your appetite increases.

If you’re worried about your height and weight, you may want to ask your doctor about that since they’ll know whether or not you need to change things up. But keep in mind that genetics play a large role in height.

You should eat to fulfill your caloric and growth needs. Usually if a teenage boy fills hungry a lot, that is normal. Teenagers, both boys and girls, need to eat a lot. If one is overweight, that usually means they are eating too much and not getting enough exercise. (I’m not talking about abnormal medical conditions which affect this). The amount of exercise you get plays role, also. My 15 year old granddaughter swims in competitions and has to eat about 3500 calories a day to keep her weight and strength up. And there is not an ounce of fat on her body.

If you are underweight and don’t feel full, you need to eat more–that is not gluttony-that is meeting your body’s caloric needs.

Both my parents are around the <160cm range ahaha, and yeah I’m kinda concerned about my height and weight, but mostly my height. I’m in high school at the moment and literally most of the guys in my school are over 170cm, and I’m here sitting at 162cm. Also, last year in my math class we were actually recording our heights as our math teacher was calculating the average height of our class. Every guy in my math class was over 175cm, and I basically brought the average down a bunch when I was recorded to be 161.5cm 😃

I hope I can grow taller though, I’ve seen some people with short parents of about 155cm and 160cm but they grew up to be over 6 feet tall

Thank you so much 🙂 I was so worried that I might be somehow committing the sin of gluttony by eating more than required

There is no moral law that says every person must only eat three meals of such-and-such size. The amount of food a person needs to eat can vary greatly depending on a whole host of factors.
