On a Friday in Lent, would it be sinful to eat something after you removed the visible meat topping (specifically strips of bacon) from it? It didn’t taste like there was any bacon, but I suppose there could have been very small pieces still left.
On a related note (and the reason I had something with meat on it to begin with), someone offered to get me the sandwich for free. I told them I’d just remove the bacon. I specifically thought about whether to say this was because of Lent (they’re not Catholic). I felt that I might either be trying to show off my faith or downplay my faith so I just said nothing. Should I have approached this any differently?
