Hi,
This is kind of an odd question 🤷 but here I go…

I am planning on getting rid of some of my more immodest clothing, and was thinking that since I need the money, and can’t think of a better way to get rid of them, to sell the clothes on eBay. The problem is, if I am getting rid of very immodest clothing, and someone else is buying it to wear, aren’t I kind of indirectly helping someone be sinful, as well as the people who look at the person wearing the clothes? So would it be morally questionable for me to sell the clothes? I feel like it would be, but I don’t know what else to do with them. Advice would be appreciated.

I would feel the same way. Maybe you can sell some of them as children’s (unless it would be just as immodest on them, then:eek: ) ? or as costumes? Otherwise, the dumpster may be your best bet, IMHO.

If you couldn’t live with your conscience after selling them, then don’t.

I like water’s idea, though. Make a quilt and sell that! 😛

That’s a good question. I agree that while it’s probably not a good idea to propagate immodesty through the sale of these clothes, you did make clear that you could use the money, so perhaps a compromise could be reached. I was thinking that maybe you could sell them to a second-hand clothing store, basically taking them back to where they came from. I do agree with above posters that you should do whatever your conscience is comfortable with. I hope that helps.

Immodest clothing… I think I would toss in the trash. You were on the right track, about not wanting to lead others into wearing such things. But maybe the other clothing… you might want to either sell or donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Here is their link…

As for eBay… I personally stay away from them now… ever since I read that they have allowed Consecrated Hosts to be sold on their site. (That’s right… the MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT has been hocked on eBay… like a common collectable). Take a look at the link below…
