:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Now that’s a picture that’s going to be stuck in my head all day, Razzy!!!

Is that like a Roomba? I bought one of those when they first came out, and my long-haired cats just about killed it. I had to take it apart and clean out the ‘innards’ every time I used it. I just went back to a regular old vacuum cleaner. My cats shed all year round, so I have to vacuum every day.

I’m right there with you! I almost always have my Kindle and my iPhone with me. We’re just a couple of Wireless Warriors!!

YES!!! That’s a PERFECT excuse for a new purse!!!

Sorry the red cover doesn’t fit properly. I know this isn’t exactly what you are looking for, but have you seen these decorative/protective films you can buy for all sorts of gadgets? I have coordinating ‘skins’ for my iPod, my iPhone, and my Kindle. All my devices are stylin’!! They have them for Nooks, too: istyles.com/ebook-readers-tablets-barnes-noble-nook-c-506_668.html
Thank you for the web addy. It answered all my question about skins, too. I think that is what I will buy. I don’t want to add bulk to the Nook…after all, the thinness is why I got it to begin with!

I “need” to buy a summer purse, too. So I think I am going to look for one to cordinate with the skin I choose. So far, I like the “storm” one and the “bayou” one…but I will ned to look at all of them.

My sister bought a Sony reader, so I am going to see if the red “leather” cover I bought fits hers and if so, give it to her. She will like it — too bad it isn’t pink. (Her fave color…not mine!)

Thank you for all your help, MissLinda! (How is today in Texas, anyway?? Hot & humid as it is here in central Ohio??)

YES! a Roomba! I couldn’t think of the name. We named it “Neicee” (“nee-cee”) after Neicee Nash on “Clean House”. I can see how it would not be good for long cat hairs, as they are also so fine in texture. But it works nicely for short, stubby Rottie hair. I thought Rotts didn’tshed, but whoever said that never met my Lucy Lou. (For some reason, LL sheds tons of hair, but Razz hardly sheds at all.)

In Texas it is a nice, toasty 100 degrees!! :coolinoff: Our air conditioners are working overtime!

I bought the ‘burlwood’ skin for my iPod, iPhone and Kindle. (I am just OCD enough that I like them all to match.) I have to say that I handle my iPhone and Kindle quite a bit throughout the day, and I’ve never had any trouble with the skins. The adhesive seems to hold extremely well. The vinyl skin is thick enough to really protect the surfaces.

Good to know they hold up well.
The “OCD” matching concept is not OCD ---- just great fashion sense! 😉

I’ve got a nook and don’t care for the touch screen. Also there is no back lighting which is something I would want but I got it as a gift so I really can’t complain. It’s nice to be able to put multiple books one small space and not have to carry a load but all and all I’m a traditionalist and will probably stick mostly with paper books. Partly is might be that I’m in the x generation and slightly missed growing up with technology everywhere. I still remember the first Atari home computer with the tape deck lol…I guess we’ve come a long way. 🤷

…erm…I am older than you if you are an X-gen…I am a “Baby Boomer”! (I think the years that define Baby Boomer is roughly 1948 - 1955.)

Oh, yes…I fondly remember the Atari game system. We got one for Christmas…I mean, for our KIDS for Christmas…yeah, that’s what I meant! lol

Our first home computer was the Explorer. I still remember how excited we were when we got the c: prompt…then we thought, “Now what do we do??” :rotfl:

Okay, does anyone remember that groundbreaking game: PONG ?

I remember playing that with my father. Never mind how many years ago that was!

Of course, when I was in school we didn’t have computers. I learned to type on an IBM Selectric (for you young ones out there, that’s an electric typewriter).

My goodness. How far we’ve come in such a short time! Playing games like Pong and typing on an electric typewriter – and now I carry around a little web-enabled iPhone and read books that magically download onto a device the size of a pad of paper!

Checkers, backgammon? Othello was the new kid on the block. Oh, yeah, card games – no batteries just a deck of actual cards.

But are we any happier or smarter?
Sadly, when I was in school typing was for girls so I never learned.

i don’t think advancement in technology is about happiness or intelligence. Not to me. I just really enjoy the way the “gadgets” make my life more interesting and in many ways easier. As a matter of fact, I would not have my current job if it were not for “technology”. I am an RN, but had to give up bedside care due to health issues and now work with computers in my hospital!

I never learned to type in HS either - even though I am a “girl” because I took “College Prep” classes — which did not include typing in “those days”. Typing was a course in the secretarial class. The intent was to train girls to be secretaries. I am happy high schools don’t think that way anymore.

And YES! I remember “Pong”!!! It was our first “computer game”!! DH and I would play it after our kids went to bed. I remember our DD calling downstairs to us telling us she couldn’t get to sleep because she could hear the “ponging” noise we were making! :rotfl:

And how about the game “Breakout”?? That was another one we drove our kids nuts playing!😃

Now that’s hysterical! 😃
