I read Ecclesiastes 10:19, Brothers Sisters, and I must say I think about it —I have seen it is very different meaning in many versions, —It has said .—

Look at it!
New International Version
A feast is made for laughter, wine makes life merry, and money is the answer for everything.

NewA Living Translation
**party gives laughter, wine gives happiness, and money gives everything!
**
English Standard Version
Bread is made for laughter, and wine gladdens life, and money answers everything.

New American Standard Bible
Men prepare a meal for enjoyment, and wine makes life merry, and money is the answer to everything.

King James Bible
**A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.
**
Douay-Rheims Bible
**For laughter they make bread, and wine that the living may feast: and all things obey money. **

NRSV Holy Bible
** Feasts are made for laughter;
wine gladdens life,
and money meets every need.**

Is it that?

Brothers Sisters?
And has you thought what it is meaning?

In this section, Kohelet, the author of Ecclesiastes, has just finished talking about a foolish young ruler who throws a party with his friends first thing the morning. Kohelet then says, “A more prosperous county is ruled by nobels who eat at a proper time, to strengthen their bodies and not to get drunk.” Kohelet is not teaching that the only purpose of food is physical strength for he has already told us to “Go, eat your food with gladness and drink your wine with a joyful heart” for “these pleasures are God’s gift to you in your toilsome labor under the sun.”

So now, right after his warning against excessive partying he goes right on to say “Although eating is pleasurable and wine makes life merry, you need money to enjoy both.”
Then he gets very practical for in any economy you must be keep your relationships intact. “So do not criticize a ruler in your thoughts or curse the rich in your bedroom or a little bird may report what you say. Instead give your bread freely to others and later, when you are in need, it will come back to you. Share with as many as possible for you do not know what disaster will come upon the land.”

Kohelet is pointing out that if we wish to truly enjoy our food and drink we should share with others in our community, not hoard it to ourselves. It is a great teaching that rings true two thousand years after he wrote it.

FYI - The translation I am using is one I have completed after 30 years of studying the book of Ecclesiastes. (www.artofwork.ca)

Wonderful,
🙂
Ah, Vance! I was thinking no matter rich or not, first important thing for human is righteousness, faith, love, endurance …and in Bible also said eat too much meat is not good. Money is good, can buy many things, but Bible also say the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil ,love money lead many to astray. Money like fire, you use it, but if not use well it can do damage. If we have food and clothing that we should be content and thank God provider of every good things. If we rich, we must do good works, generous, and ready to share.

–Are you see feeding the seagull, Vance?
–I know that, when you give bread to a seagull, he, never eat it right away; but first he fly up and flying a circle and at same times calling Ahh,Ahh…It calling his friends to come to the food then more seagulls come they eat and when they eat they still calling: Ahh, ahh…to call more seagulls, they share with others.

—I know that for human kind, the most important thing is being hired by God second chance.
