Tell that to Italy.
Oh really … Smarty-Pants Response?

yes. China, Italy and Iran have been hit hard - in that order.

yet the deaths in all the rest of the Globe - including iran’s - are less than that of Italy’s.

When I find that I am worrying or fretting a lot about something, I try to pray whenever the worrying starts. This helps so much 🙂 but is hard to learn to do–i have to see that I am worrying, remember that I am supposed to pray instead, etc. But I have gotten better at it than I used to be!

Praying and offering up are the most effective things most of us can do!

Deaths in Italy are circa 1000 - very hard hit… and apparently stabilizing.

It is very hard to find the truth, there is panic going on, and there is plenty of denial as well. What is for sure is that Corona can spread pretty darn quick. It’s easy for those who are healthy and young to dismiss this virus as no big deal, but it is a big deal if we are able to think beyond ourselves. We must think about those who are vulnerable FIRST. And we must be willing to sacrifice our normal way of life until it is under control to do that. This virus can be caught more than once, and there is no doubt that most viruses do mutate, so no one knows what rounds two and three might look like yet.

I live in Alabama where there are no reported cases YET. That does not mean it is not here, because it most likely is. I know what panic looks like from dealing with what happened when a tornado knocked out power around here for 5 days. Society can quickly break down when panic sets in. It took about two days for people to begin to act irrational, fighting over gas, panic buying, and looting places that were closed. What I’m trying to say is that it is much better to be prepared than to deal with the mayhem in the middle of a crisis.

So today, while there are no reported cases yet here in Alabama, my wife and i won’t panic, but we will begin to take precautions and stay away from crowded places, and if we need to shop, I will go in the wee hours of the morning, like 3AM. It also helps i have a small garden i planted back in the fall, and being that we never had a hard freeze this winter it is still producing.

May God bless and give comfort to all those effected by this virus.

Also, even in the young and healthy, the virus can cause permanent lung damage.

Many… All? Virus’s can Kill…

According to the CDC In Jan/Feb 2020 - the FLU has killed over 20,000 people in the US alone.

Don’t forget the airlines, they have been battered harder than a red headed step child, and are poised to make BIG returns.
You’re probably right. However, I don’t know anything about airlines, and I never invest in anything I don’t understand.

And there are flu vaccines, anti virals that combat the flu, and some natural immunity that people have because they’ve faced flu viruses before.

None of that is true for Coronavirus.

About a week ago, I rode on a train with a woman in a nearby seat who was coughing multiple times. What does it mean? I’ve got two parents in law. Will I get sick? Am I a vector to illness?

I for one don’t trust the reporting coming from Iran
Well yes… . It could be more than Italy’s… In either case - both have huge numbers…

I do not easily trust the reports coming from anywhere…
