You are right to be worried. Modernism and ecumenism are serious problems. What is important to understand is that the Church has always been against both. Seek for good Catechisms. Popes Leo XIII, Saint Pius X, Pius XI and Saint John Paul II wrote many encyclicals about their errors.

You should also know that the Vatican II Council proposed changing the way we should approach other religions, however the core was kept intact: the Truth is in the Catholic Church; She protects it and she will until the end of the world.

Modernism has many names … and all connect with Satan

True Ecumenism means bringing all into the fold of Catholicism
