Pope Pius XI comdemned ecumenism in 1928:

So, Venerable Brethren, it is clear why this Apostolic See has never allowed its subjects to take part in the assemblies of non-Catholics: for the union of Christians can only be promoted by promoting the return to the one true Church of Christ of those who are separated from it, for in the past they have unhappily left it.

Jesus on ecumenism:
Day 5

Today bring to Me the souls of heretics and schismatics, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. During My bitter Passion they tore at My Body and Heart; that is, My Church. As they return to unity with the Church, My wounds heal, and in this way they alleviate My Passion.

Thank God that pope Benedict XVI walks the right path and as long as he’s the pope there’s not gonna be any multireligious shows as it was in Assisi…
By the way, it’s horryfying how much political correctness and terror of “tolerance” damaged people’s brains. It’s so easy (and illogical) to be ecumenical (coward) and to love other religions, to pray for noncontroversial things like peace one earth, instead of praying for example for the conversion of Jews (or their return home in fact) which requires courage when in public…
So, brothers and sisters, we need to pray for the victory of truth against a nicely clothed lie which ecumenism is.
God bless!

That’s ok. We have folks on this side that dislike ecumenism, also. Some are afraid that their leaders will sell out the truth, as they see it (personally, I have more confidence in both Catholic and Lutheran leaders than that). And others just prefer division over unity - it is quite comfortable for some.

EDIT; On second thought, maybe you are speaking of syncretism. Not sure.
