I was shocked to read that a person went for Communion on their phone, and of course some people’s attire is far from appropriate. Priests really need to address issues of modesty and church manners from the pulpit as its far overdue.

I go to daily Mass and and yes I do wear jeans at times because I wear them at my job. When I am dressed up for work then that is what I will wear to Mass. For Sunday Mass I do dress up for God regardless. The difference for me is that I will not put more importance in my dress for work and than I do for God.
I do see the majority of people wearing jeans for Mass and I trust that God knows thier hearts and their financial situation so I will not worry about it.
I agree with the Priest for saying what he did, there appears to be a very casual attitude for a very supernatural event. How would people dress if they knew they had a face to face meeting with Jesus? That’s what we have in the Mass a face to face meeting and more.

We are all going to see Him, and we will not get to “dress up” for that event: in fact we may not be clothed at all!

Methinks the judgment scales ought to be put away for Lent. IMNAAHO of course.
