I know this is off topic, but what in the world does that mean? I thought Mary was only regarded as one of the saints. If Mary is in heaven, how could she be in someone’s soul while residing in heaven unless she was deity and had the same power as God with the Holy Spirit?
just asking…
With God, all things are possible. Mary is not someone you learn about, she is someone you experience her. Beg her Son for this.

“When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he said to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. After that, he said to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.” John 19:26-27

In the Gospel according to St. John this disciple is unnamed is because that diciple is you.

The mere fact that it is recorded in the Holy Bible that Jesus gave us His mother, at the most powerful moment in Jesus’ triumph over the Devil, can only be something perpetual, not just some temporal thing. If it truly was just temporal, why did the Holy Spirit instruct St. John to insert it there? Do you really think that would make sense on God’s part?

If you are experiencing something spiritual, and it is not the Holy Spirit… it must be a devil. This is a very dangerous claim you are making!

I feel like I’ve missed part of the conversation.

No - Mary is not a devil. But of course you know that.

And she does not reside in my soul. No idea what that’s about?

Of course Mary isn’t a devil. she is the virgin Mother of God, Queen of Heaven, but not a devil nor a deity. You can have a spiritual experience that does not involve the Holy Spirit. I know because I did.

While this bunk is allowed and even expected over on that other board you post at, it isn’t welcomed here.

I have not seen anyone refer to your beliefs as Satanic here. Please stop referring to the mother of our savior in that fashion. This should be beneath you.

Prove it! I don’t think your erroneous interpretations of the Bible will do.

:banghead: Once again, the perfect interpretter of the Bible hurls insults to the Catholic beliefs! Such Arrogance oh man who’s a self-proclaimed better interpretter than the ECFs… tsk tsk! :tsktsk:

And now the experience thru Mary?!? From the devil?!? Such a judgemental man… Before you insult other’s faith better check your ethics first! And morals too you judgemental person! There are better ways than pissing off others to make them understand your side… Maybe it’s you have feelings brought by the Devil!

Excuse me, but the Catholic Mary is the only Mary. She is the Virgin Mother of God (because Jesus is fully God and fully Man). She is Immaculate (because of her Son), and she is a Saint (because her Son saved her soul).

Don’t call my beliefs “Satanic” or “devilish” because I do not do the same to yours. You do not even make good arguments but just blast other religions… aka troll.

Pax vobiscum!

I can see it now. bibleapologist dies, goes up to Heaven and meets Jesus. Jesus goes through the judgment list.

Jesus: “You believed in me and preached the Gospel message, good. You helped that old lady across the street, good. You were charitable to the poor, good. But…what was that you said about my mother?”

Have any of you ever known a Jewish man who stood for his mother being insulted?

In Christ,
Rand

You are seriously in need of help. I feel sorry for you. You even started a new thread with this title? Your disrespect is blasphemous.

You need to step away and think before you type because you are affecting a large group of people with your words. This is the Blessed Virgin, Mother of our dear Lord Jesus Christ, and I love her so much.
May God forgive you.

I agree with most of the posts here about your disrespectful remarks about the Mother of Our Lord. I feel compelled to point out a big flaw in your “assertion”. Mary has absolutely no power on her own. All graces have been given to her by God. If she appears to me or at Fatima or wherever, it is only by the grace of God that she does so. So all of these spiritual experiences with Mary happen by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I believe that Satan can do many things to trick us. A false apparition of Mary is certainly possible. But we know by the fruit whether we have experience something that comes from God or something that comes from Satan. If an experience with Mary brings us closer to her Son, then it is the real deal. If it takes us away from her Son, then it is not.

On a side note I’d like to explain at least one reason why Catholics love Mary. We are called upon to be imitators of Christ. Being that He was a perfect Son to Mary, I’m sure Jesus loved her with an unsurpassed purity. I could never hope to love her or my neighbor in the pure way He did, but He asked us to love as He loved. The love we feel for Mary is NOT the same as the love we feel for God. But we try to love her as our Mother. Just like He did.

This is where this garbage comes from over on the “What Is The True Church?” thread.
Hailmary,

I was so appalled with your response to my question, I started a new thread
because I think this topic needs some serious discussion, and since it is off topic we shouldn’t do it here.

JohnI think BA’s guilty of reading something into a response that isn’t there. Any rational human being with an intelligence above a leaf or stone would see that St. Louis (& HailMary) are both talking about carrying the love of the Blessed Virgin inside you. True Marian devotion has always had the very same message from Mary. “Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.” (John 2:5b)

So forget it, this threads goin’ nowhere.

How could you come to that conclusion?

Jesus commanded his apostles to pray to our Father in heaven, and we the Roman Catholic people of God largely ignore Jesus’ teaching and turn to Mary instead.

What’s your point John?
So far you have come here and called us idolaters. You have said we are “un-saved” therefore non-christian. Now we are Mary worshiper’s. We hear this anti-Catholic bunk all the time. Nothing new from the like’s of you and your kind. It is all over your website. The lies, and deceit. For what? Not for the Truth I know. To save souls? If you you have to save souls through lies and deceit, then…well I wont go there.
So this is what I gleaned from your website. (highlights only there are much more lies on your site)
  1. We worship the Pope (anti-christ) as we would Jesus.
  2. We worship Mary as a God.
  3. We all are idolaters
  4. We are a group of un-saved souls with a one way ticket to hell.
None that cra* (lies and deceit) on your website is what the Catholic Church teaches. And that time lineline you have is just plain cra* (lies and deceit). John this is not an attack by me. But just a comment on your attack of the Catholic Church.

What a load - firstly ‘we the Roman Catholic people of God’ (and 99% of all Christians) understand that we can pray to (my goodness) the Holy Spirit or Jesus himself as well as the Father. Neither of those options are listed in the Bible either, doesn’t mean we can’t! And we offer THE prayer par excellence, the Mass, entirely to the Father, in case you hadn’t noticed.

Secondly - ‘we the Roman Catholic people of God’ understand the concepts of intercessory prayer and the Communion of Saints (which simply means that the deceased don’t stop caring and interceding for us).

Thirdly - what is this ‘we’? Stop misrepresenting yourself as Roman Catholic when you clearly have no idea of some of the most basic Church teachings.

You mean that dead people care for Roman Catholics?

If you intend on ‘saving’ us from what you obviously believe to be error, then please take some time to learn what the Catholic teachings (of which there are plenty) are on this supposed ‘error’.

Most here are used to such questions and they strike at no one’s hearts as you would like them to. They rarely delve into what the Catholic Church actually teaches, instead they are based on assumptions.

Only Jesus can save people. I am just interested as Jesus told his apostles to pray to the Father and I can see no problems with asking the HS for guidance either. Where in the scriptures does it even suggest that prayers to Mary are acceptable?

If I wanted to be a RC than I would want that they stick to the scriptures. It appears that the RCC goes beyond what Jesus taught in regards to praying to Mary.

Everyone who does not abide in the teaching of Christ, but goes beyond it, does not have God; whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 9

See why I have problems with this. I would love to hear more about this but my theology is limited to what God has revealed in the scriptures and nothing more.

Can you help?
