Should I be recieved into the Church in the EF or OF? I mean, I choose for myself but what would be a good reason for me to tell the local parish that I want the EF? Do I need to give them a good readon or just choose the EF?

Contact your parish priest and discuss it with him. If you are being received during the Easter vigil it is very likely it is going to be the OF. You are free to go to the EF and/or the OF as you wish after.

People are generally received into the Catholic Church in the parish where they went through RCIA. (I have seen exceptions to this, but they are rare in my experience.) So your options for the form of the rite are limited to what is offered in that parish. If your priest offers Mass in the OF exclusively, then that is the form that your reception will take. The same goes in EF-only parishes.

I have witnessed reception in both OF and EF and can assure you that it is beautiful in both. 🙂 God bless!

This is something you need to take up with your priest or whoever is running RCIA. I suspect that they will not be offering a choice. Reception often happens, although it’s not mandatory, at the Paschal Vigil. I would be surprised if your parish will be doing the Paschal Vigil in the Extraordinary Form.

You may be asked to accept that both the Ordinary and Extraordinary forms are equally valid. I believe the most important thing is for you to be received into the Catholic Church and not your preferred praxis.

Welcome home and and joyous and blessed Easter next weekend!
