EF Mass at 6 pm, how long to fast?

fasting from midnight until after mass stopped being a thing in the early 1950s. the three hour fast was a thing during the 1950s until 1957 when the one hour fast was made a thing.

so, one hour before the 6:00pm mass, to answer your question.
