EF/OF Moratorium

I would appreciate a word that would curtail those who don the “mod hat” and attempt to bar people – and threads – from participation in this forum. It seems that they would limit discussions here to the EF.

I noted in one so-called nontraditional thread that some repeatedly made others feel unwelcome here with their consistent attempts to have the thread moved. When the moderator allows a thread to remain, why continue the contention? This is divisive.

The benevolent goodwill toward each other has become each others opinion on what is the correct path for humanity in the world of Catholicism thus mankind, and often in disregard to goodwill towards each other.

When you can’t first care about each other, how will you care for others?

I think it is regretful that we have people who come in here and start posting more extreme views without first getting the feel of the type of forum this is. Yes, it is rather moderated, but that is only to assure civility, not to dampen discussion. Unfortunately, such people usually cause the most dissention.

Internet discussion tends to be hotter than discussion in person so such moderation is needed. Yet ideally, the civility should reign in both venues. I address you personally because I have noted that you usuaslly have no issue with civil discussion, even in disagreement. I do not think any such limitation would effect you at all. I would further recommend two things I do in posting.
  1. If it is of questionable charity, do not not post it (or delete it as fast as you can if you just blew your top at someone and realized that you went waaaaayyy too far the second you hit “Submit Reply”)
  2. Ask yourself, what would J.R. say?
 
One more thing, if you think of something to post with humor that is applicable, post it. The mods need a laugh now and then.
 
Fifth, getting ugly over things like this shows how we’re not truly living the mass in our daily lives. Of what use is the most reverent mass in the world when we treat each other with grave irreverence?
