how effective are ejaculatory prayers when using them for intercessory or petition?

i like to pray the jesus prayer

jesus christ son of god have mercy on me a sinner…and to keep the prayer fresh and to pray for others in the world i like to tack on a petion at the end e.g “grant relief and deliverance to to the holy souls in purgatory”…or " assist and save all the dying"…or “please protect unborn babies from abortion”…etc

is this a good way to pray through out the day?

Yes. It is a fine way to pray.

Ejaculatory prayers are very effective particularly as we are pursuing our busy days since they serve to keep God before us and ever present in our thoughts.

The most effective prayers of all, to me, are “conversational” prayers. Simply ask Christ as you would ask a friend. Ask a saint as you would ask a friend. So if you wish to change a prayer or add to it or whatever, by all means do so.

i find that saying the jesus prayer helped me overcome dryness in prayer…but i felt like i wasnt praying for others so i do like to add on little bits at the end

How efeective? These prayers keep you in constant communication with the Lord. It’s as if He’s there at your side throughout the day, sharing your joys and sorrows. With a friend like Jesus listening to your every need, who could question the effectiveness of these prayers?
