Hi y’all!
It’s me again. I really want to build up a good prayer life but it’s really hard. I start talking to one of the persons of the Holy Trinity and I start just saying what’s on my mind. Then, I worry that God might think my words to be pretentious or that I’m trying to show off, I hope this isn’t my intention but I don’t know the ins and outs of my subconscious. Also, it is hard to pray a lot, sometimes, because I believe that I’m not doing enough. Saint Paul says we must pray without ceasing but that’s impossible, what does he mean by this? How long must we spend in prayer? Some say we must keep things brief, others say we must be repetitive. I try to pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy but, to be quite honest, I get really bored and start to think about other things (it’s hard to concentrate for too long especially when you’re tired physically and spiritually). I find it hard to believe that my prayers will do any good or if they bring God any joy. I have tried to become a better person but I always fall back into my sins (worst of all, those associated with my same-sex attraction
). I often offer to do a fast, almost every day, but so often, like yesterday, I give into temptation and break the fast, usually in the evening. My question is basically this, how do I form a good prayer life, do I have to pray from the minute I wake up until the minute I sleep or can I just reserve some time in the evening to say the Rosary and read from scripture? Also, sometimes I need to pray urgently so I have no time to make the sign of the cross, is my prayer still valid if I don’t make the sign of the cross? Please pray for my family and I, we are going through the most difficult period of our lives at the moment and we could really use your help. When I make intercessory prayer, is it permissible for me to refer to entire groups e.g. Lord, I pray for the joy and Salvation of all my classmates? Is this just as effective as tediously reciting a list of names? Do you think using words like ‘thou’, ‘thee’ and ‘Lord’ are pretentious? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
I’m praying for y’all

P.S. When we say the Rosary , do we make our intentions before we make the sign of the cross and do we direct our intentions to Jesus or Mary? Also, when we offer up the Eucharist at Mass for our intentions, do we offer up the sacrifice to Jesus, the Father or the Holy Spirit? I’m so confused.
